FALL CLASSIC H20 VOLUNTEERS

We can still use help - numbers are up and the weather looks to be good!

Thanks to all of you who have responded and agreed to help. Please plan on being at the stop froM 8am-12pm (but we are usually done a little earlier). This is a really busy water stop so being there early is essential to making sure things run smoothly. Our stop is about a mile past the bonnie park pavilion, close to the chalet, and you can park at the stop itself. Call the store if you need directions or have any other questions - the more the merrier - so bring others if you can.

Thank you,

Bill
Forum: Second Sole Forum

Running on Thursday night

Hi- I would like to run with the group on Thursday nights but I am not sure who would be at my pace. I generally run 3 to 4 days a week and run either 3 or 4 miles. I ran 4.4 miles last night in 47 minutes, so I usually run at a 10 min pace or a little slower at times. Thanks
Forum: Second Sole Forum

Prep for Winter Training

TRAINING FOR WINTER:

We are looking at having an informal gathering in December to welcome new members, answer questions, and go over some general principles of training. We will post a date and time soon. If interested, please send to me:

1. Do a 1.5 mile time trial on a track (lane 1) or a treadmill once you are recovered from your Fall races. Record your time and max heart rate during that effort. Warm up about 10 min. easy before the time trial. Walkers- do the same, but for 1 mile. We will estimate your aerobic ability and training paces from this data.

2. Send your 1.5 mile time, max heart rate, age, current weight (not what you want to weigh), PR's at 5K, 1/2, and 26.2, and your goal races/dates/paces.

*If I have tested you in the lab, your values there are more accurate, but go ahead and do the time trial.
Forum: Second Sole Forum
